Robert Dilts has had an international reputation as a leading behavioral skills trainer and business consultant since the late 1970s. A developer and expert in the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programing (NLP), Robert has provided coaching, consulting and training throughout the world to a wide variety of individuals and organizations. His most recent book, From Coach to Awakener provides a road map and set of toolboxes for coaches to help clients achieve their goals while experiencing deep changes within themselves. In 2003 Robert was the keynote speaker for the ICF European Coaching Conference.

A long time student and colleague of NLP co-founders John Grinder and Richard Bandler, Robert also studied personally with Milton H. Erickson, M.D., and Gregory Bateson. In addition to spearheading the applications of NLP to education, creativity, health, and leadership, his personal contributions to the field of NLP include much of the seminal work on the NLP techniques of Strategies and Belief Systems, and the development of what has become known as ‘Systemic NLP’. Some of his techniques and models include: Reimprinting, Integration of Conflicting Beliefs, Sleight of Mouth Patterns, The Spelling Strategy, The Allergy Technique, Neuro-Logical Levels, The Belief Change Cycle, Generative NLP Patterns, the Unified Field Theory for NLP and many others.

Robert is a developer and expert in the principles and techniques of Success Factor Modeling™, and has authored numerous books and articles about how it may be applied to enhance leadership, creativity, communication and team development. His book, Visionary Leadership Skills, for instance, draws from Robert’s extensive study of historical and corporate leaders to present the tools and skills necessary for “creating a world to which people want to belong.” Robert’s book Alpha Leadership: Tools for Business Leaders Who Want More From Life (with Ann Deering and Julian Russell) describes a new model of leadership that captures and shares the latest know-how on the practice of effective leadership, offering approaches to reduce stress and to promote satisfaction. The Alpha Leadership model supplies tools for managers, consultants and coaches to develop more effective leadership ability.

Robert has been an associate professor at the ISVOR Fiat School of Management for a number of years, helping to develop programs on leadership, innovation, values and systemic thinking. He is also chief scientist and Chairman of the Board for ISVOR DILTS Leadership Systems, joint venture with ISVOR Fiat (the corporate university of the Fiat Group). The mission ISVOR DILTS is to deliver a wide range of innovative leadership development programs to large corporations on a global scale. These programs leverage leading edge e-learning solutions and other new technologies to serve corporate clients around the world.

A co-founder of Dilts Strategy Group, L.L.C. and Dilts Capital Partners, L.P., Robert was also founder and CEO of Behavioral Engineering, a company that developed computer software and hardware applications emphasizing behavioral change.
